1. Lake Como (Lago di Como).

Bellagio, Lake Como, is merely one of the most beautiful places to visit in Italy on your honeymoon itinerary.

A romantic honeymoon doesn’t always necessitate white-sand beaches and a crystal-clear blue sea.

The stunning deep blue water of Lake Como, as well as the rolling hills that surround the Bellagio neighbourhood, make for a romantic and restful honeymoon.

If Bellagio is a great enough escape for George Clooney, it’s safe to assume it’ll be perfect for you and your new companion as well.

The shores of Lake Como are lined with several settlements, with Bellagio being one of the most popular and beautiful.

If you have enough time on Lake Como, you should take the ferry to the neighbouring villages of Varenna, Como, and Menaggio.

Top Attractions include:

  • Jungle Raider Park offers bungee jumping and ziplining.
  • In the century Botanic Gardens, surrounded by the lake, romance reigns supreme.
  • While exploring the 17th century Forte di Fuentes fortification, look for untold legends.
  • Visit a couple’s spa and go kitesurfing, windsurfing, or sailing.

Best honeymoon hotels near Lake Como:

Hotel Villa Cipressi, a heritage property going back to the 15th century, is located next to the Botanic Garden and the lake.

This three-star hotel comes highly recommended for a romantic getaway. The four-star Sheraton Lake Como Hotel is suited for a more luxurious stay.

Argegno’s local market is the best.
How to get in touch: Milan Malpensa Airport is the closest airport. You can take a cab to the lake once you arrive at the airport.

Distance to the nearest airport: 40 km

2. Cinque Terre.

Cinque Terre, Italy – One of the best honeymoon destinations in Italy is Cinque Terre.

The name, Cinque Terre is made up of five (cinque) settlements strewn across the hills of the Ligurian Coastline.

From south to north, Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza, and Monterosso al Mare are all individually designed angling villages, each like a 152-count box of Crayons.

Each neighbourhood is unique, but they are all remarkably similar.

Monterosso al Mare is an excellent alternative for Italy honeymoon celebrations.

The lengthy beachfront provides numerous opportunities for sunbathing and relaxation.

The five communities are linked by one of the most beautiful treks we’ve ever done, which includes a trail called Suite dell’ Amore, or the Way of Love.

Because of rain and mudslides, the smooth way between Riomaggiore and Manarola is frequently closed; therefore, you may need to educate in between these settlements.

Attractions for Visitors:

  • Tours on the water with your significant other
  • Make plans to visit the Parco Nazionale Cinque Terre, one of Italy’s national parks.
  • Paragliding with your partner in Monterosso

3. Portofino.

Cinque Terre’s quasi-extension is Portofino.

The attractive, vibrant town is not far north of Cinque Terre, and it is a comparable, albeit much more upscale version of Cinque Terre.

In Portofino, you’ll find brightly coloured structures similar to those found in Cinque Terre, Ligurian cuisine (trofi al pesto, local fish, and delicious white wines), and beautiful mountains that flank the coast.

High-end private yachts are something you’ll see more of in Portofino.

The lake appears to be a parking lot for the wealthy and famous.

In this gorgeous town, the concept of “old meets new” comes to life. Portofino, come to think of it, would be excellent hiding for a Bond villain.

If you’ve seen the movie Wolf of Wall Street, you’ll recognize Jordan’s and Naomi’s private yacht, the Naomi, which is located just off the coast of Portofino.

If you are tired of sitting and drinking alcohol prosecco on a boat, you may walk or take the bus to the nearby hamlet of Santa Margherita.

Additionally, you can take a train from Santa Margherita to Cinque Terre.

Portofino has become a favourite among the best honeymoon destinations in Italy.

4. Florence (Firenze).

Florence, Italy is a must-see destination on any Italy honeymoon itinerary!

Firenze, oh, Firenze! This is our second home. We adore each other. We’re relieved.

Florence offers couples a one-of-a-kind Italian honeymoon experience that does not include white-sand beaches or tropical beverages served under umbrellas.

Florence was the epicentre of the Renaissance and the historical nucleus of a land ruled by Ancient Rome for nearly a millennium.

If you and your partner are looking for a trip that is rich in history, delicious cuisine, and viticulture, Florence should be on your list of honeymoon places.

Florence is aesthetically pleasing, both in terms of food and society.

The numerous bridges strewn across the city make it a fantastic location for a sunset BBQ. Florence always has beautiful sunsets, no matter what time of year it is.

Tuscany is home to some of the world’s best red wines, as well as the popular bistecca Fiorentina (or just bistecca in Florence) and a world-renowned gold profession.

Try some wine from the nearby Tuscan wineries of Montalcino, Chianti, San Gimignano, and others; you’ll appreciate Brunello, Chianti, and Vernaccia.

If you spend your honeymoon in Florence, make sure to try a bottle of Tuscan wine, attend a cooking lesson with a local Florence neighbourhood and learn to make pasta, Fiori di Zucca, bistecca, and other Tuscan dishes, and visit the Uffizi and Accademia museums.

Because Florence is also the birthplace of gelato, make sure you eat your weight in the stuff before you leave.

You’ve earned it.

Top Attractions include:

  • Take a bike ride from Florence to the Tuscan countryside. Along the trip, you’ll pass across castles, vineyards, and olive groves. Wine tasting is one of the best things to do in Italy, and you should not miss it.
  • Visit the Ponte Vecchio Bridge, where lovers still throw keys over the bridge in the age-old ritual.
  • From the Piazzale Michelangelo, take in the golden sunset.

The best places to stay for a honeymoon in Florence are:

  • Cavour Grand Hotel Firenze is a four-star hotel in a 13th-century edifice located five minutes walk from the Duomo di Firenze.
  • Hotel Villa Agape, a charming hotel with Florentine-style villa rooms, is another option.
  • Sant’Ambrosio market is the best market.

Among the best honeymoon destinations in Italy is Rome.

The Colosseum in Rome is a must-see for anyone planning an Italy honeymoon or vacation.

Before its fall in 476 CE, Rome was what Florence was throughout the Renaissance.

Throughout the dark ages and past, Rome became a spoil of itself, but it was reborn during Mussolini’s reign of terror.

Today, travellers go to Rome to tread in the footsteps of the ancient Romans at the Sistine Chapel, the Trevi Water Fountain, and the Vatican.

Rent a Vespa with your companion when you visit Rome and explore the city like a local.

When you visit Rome on vacation in Italy, ride a Vespa like the locals!

6. Positano.

After getting engaged on the beach in Positano in 2016, we have a special bond with the town.

Since 2015, we have made it a point to visit Positano at least once a year.

Positano is Italy’s most important beach town. The hilly terrain of the Costiera Amalfitana, or Amalfi Coast, has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Da Vincenzo, our favourite eating institution in the world, is located in Positano. Da Vincenzo is a local and tourist favourite, serving regional seafood dishes as well as handmade pasta on a patio overlooking Positano’s historic centre.

After you’ve enjoyed a day at the beach with your new husband/wife, plan a romantic dinner here.

We had to include the Amalfi Coast on our list of best honeymoon destinations in Italy since it is so attractive, charming, and unique.

Amalfi is a 30-minute trip from Positano and can be reached by car, bus, or even boat.

The angling village with a pier is similar to Positano, but it is a little less crowded and a lot less steep.

Daily in Positano, you’ll have hundreds— no, thousands— of activities to ascend and descend. Amalfi also has a lot of white structures compared to Positano, which has a lot of different colours.

Amalfi Coast, Italy is one of the most popular honeymoon destinations in Italy.

You may simply walk from Amalfi to Atrani (a more lovely settlement on the Amalfi Coast) or hike up to Ravello (among a lot more preferred towns along the Amalfi Shore that stays up in the mountains as well as uses breathtaking sights of the coast).

Capri, a famous Italian island with stunning high cliffs, gorgeous coastlines, and renowned blue grottos, is a 30-minute boat ride from both Positano and the Bay of Naples.

We can say Capri is one of the best honeymoon destinations in Italy

In high season, Capri can become congested and touristic, but if you book a good resort with a pool, you can avoid the crowds by simply leaving to go to the shore.

Locals and those with boats are usually the only ones who visit the beaches on the rear of Capri, leaving the rocky shores empty.

This is the perfect romantic spot to unwind and enjoy your honeymoon.

Mondello, Italy is a great place to visit for your Italy honeymoon or vacation.

Many of the places we mentioned on this list are likely familiar to you because of this factor. Nonetheless, many people, even those who have visited Italy once or twice, are unfamiliar with the town of Mondello.

Mondello is a lovely beach hamlet on Sicily’s coast that is more of a holiday destination for Italians than it is for natives.

When you think of a picturesque Sicilian village where you wish to retire, you probably think of Mondello.

Massive cliffs on either side of the town encompass white sand beaches, crystal clear turquoise water, and restaurants serving delectable Sicilian cuisine.

Simply said, Mondello is an Italian bubble that we hope never rises to the surface.
